The mission of the Cleveland Innovation District partnership is to improve the science and technology job outlook for the greater Cleveland area. The task of CSU is to increase recruitment, retention and graduation of students in 16 specific in-demand fields, and completion of certifications.
Long-term goals through school year 2025 for CSU include more than 9,500 STEM/CS degree completions and 3,500 certificates awarded to assist JobsOhio with its employment goals of targeted industry sector employment. The chosen majors include Life Sciences: Biomedical/Medical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biology/Biogical Sciences, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology Technician/Biotechnology Laboratory, and Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry; and Tech majors: computer and Information Sciences, Information Science/Studies, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Software Engineering, Computer and Information Science (Health information), Cybersecurity, Mathematics: Applied Statistics, Biostatistics, Computational Biology and Data Science. Graduations and certificates must be completed within the ten-year grant period.
