Scholarships for New Freshman Engineering Students

Frank J. Ambrose Engineering Scholarship | Apply for CSU Admission

Criteria:  

Competitive merit award for a new student interested in majoring in engineering.

High school seniors will compete based on their ACT or SAT scores.  A minimum score of 24 ACT or 1090 SAT is required for eligibility.
In the event where two or more applicants provide the exact scores, an essay will be required to enable the scholarship committee to make a final selection. 

Award:

 

Full in-state tuition and fees for up to eight semesters (4 years). Aminimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, and full-time status in a CSU engineering program is required for annual renewal

Scholarships for New Transfer Engineering Students

Scholarship sponsored by Parker Hannifin CorporationApplication | Apply for CSU Admission

Criteria:   Eligibility Requirements:
Admission to CSU Engineering or Engineering Technology Programs
Minimum Community College grade point average of 3.0.
Minimum grade average of 3.0 in math and/or science courses.
Minimum one semester of completed coursework from community college
Must register for minimum 8 credit hours for first semester at CSU.

    Award:

     

    Ten engineering transfer scholarship awards are available per year, sponsored by the Parker Hannifin Corporation. Scholarships support tuition only, and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested students must complete the Application form.

    Albert Branham Scholarship

    Eligibility Requirements:   All engineering majors.
    Amount:   One $1300 Scholarship
    Deadline:   May 15, 2009

    Allen B. Curtis Endowment

    Eligibility Requirements:   Chemical eng. major with financial need. Priority given to a Glenville High School graduate.
    Amount:   One $1000 Scholarship
    Deadline:   May 15, 2009

    Calvin B. Dalton Memorial Scholarship sponsored by URS Greiner

    Eligibility Requirements:   Civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering majors. Min. 3.2 g.p.a. and full-time enrollment is required. Submit resume and two faculty recommendation letters. Must be a U.S Citizen.
    Amount:   Two $1000 Scholarships. May include a summer internship.
    Deadline:   May 15, 2009

    Eugene & Frances Klingshirn Award

    Eligibility Requirements:   All engineering majors. Applicant must be at least sophomore level by fall 2009.
    Amount:   One $1000 award.
    Deadline:   May 15, 2009

    Ohio Space Grant Consortium

    Eligibility Requirements:   All engineering majors. Applicant must: Be U.S. citizen; have a minimum 3.0 g.p.a.; have at least one full year of coursework to complete. Complete application which includes a plan for a research project.

    NOTE : Separate OSGC application is available in Eng. deans office, SH 104

    Amount:   Junior awards at $3000 each, and Senior awards at $4000 each.
    Deadline:   March 1, 2009.

    Dr. William A. Patterson Scholarship

    Eligibility Requirements:   Engineering and Math majors. Applicant must: Be enrolled full-time; sophomore, junior, or senior status as of fall 2009. Minimum 3.0 g.p.a.; resident of Greater Cleveland.
    Amount:   One $2000 Scholarship
    Deadline:   May 15, 2009

    Om Julka Scholarship

    Eligibility Requirements:   Must major in Information Systems, Engineering Technology, or any College of Engineering undergraduate degree program.  Must be a graduate from an east side high school within the Municipal School District of Greater Cleveland.
    Amount:   One $4000 Scholarship
    Deadline:   May 15, 2009

    Silent Hoist & Crane Company Prize Award for Materials Handling

    Eligibility Requirements:   All engineering majors. Applicant must: Be at least sophomore level; Have min. 3.0 g.p.a. Submit an application and original 6-8 page paper on a topic related to Materials Handling. Details on requirements of the paper are available in Dean's office.
    Amount:   Three Scholarships:1st Place: $5000 2nd Place: $4000 3rd Place: $3000
    Deadline:   May 15, 2009

    Charles J. Stilwell Cooperative Education Scholarship

    Eligibility Requirements:   All engineering majors. Applicant must: Be junior or senior level in 2009-10 academic year; Have a min. 2.7 g.p.a.; Have completed at least two co-op or internship semesters. Complete application. Decision will be based upon quality of student's co-op reports, employer evaluation and academic record.
    Amount:   Two $2000 Scholarships.
    Deadline:   May 15, 2009

    Washington Group International Scholarships

    Eligibility Requirements:   All engineering majors. Applicants must: Be sophomore, junior, or senior status by 2009-10 academic year; Have a min. of one full year of coursework at full-time status to complete before graduation; Have a min. 2.0 g.p.a. Be a resident of Greater Cleveland area.
    Amount:   Three $1000 Scholarships
    Deadline:   May 15, 2009

    William F. Bland Endowment Scholarship

    Eligibility Requirements:   All engineering majors. Need based. Priority given to a freshman who intends to participate in Cooperative Education or similar program.
    Amount:   One $1200 Scholarship
    Deadline:   May 15, 2009

    John and Joan Bardou Endowment Scholarship

    Eligibility Requirements:   All engineering majors.
    Amount:   One $1500 Scholarship

    Parker Hannifin Corporation Scholarship

    Eligibility Requirements:   All engineering majors. Applicant must be at least Sophomore level by Fall 2009.
    Amount:   One $2000 Scholarship
