The first EECS Distinguished Speaker Series -- Smart Cities
ECE Department and IEEE Cleveland co-sponsored the Smart City presentation as the first ECE Distinguished Speaker Series at Main Classroom 201. The speaker is Dr. Mohammad Shahidehpour, who is the Bodine Chair Professor, Illinois Institute of Technology and a member of National Academy of Engineering. This presentation introduces the components and the structures embedded in smart cities and discuss the benefits and the predicaments of implementing smart cities for promoting the global sustainability. An overview of a campus microgrid established at the IIT campus is also presented. There were about 70 people attended from institutions and industry in the region as well as CSU community.
