Prof. Hongxing Ye Receives the Faculty Research Development (FRD) Award
Prof. Hongxing Ye receives the Faculty Research Development (FRD) award. The project is entitled "Active Uncertainty Management in Modern Power Systems." The objective of the project is to explore the active uncertainty management via fair market mechanism in power systems. It is foreseeable that Trump administration will seek a fairer way to accommodate uncertainties caused by variable energy source, such as wind and solar. Instead of the current out-of-market measures, it becomes imperative to seek an effective and fair uncertainty management mechanism. We propose to address this fundamental challenge in applying robust optimization to real-word power system operation. Congratulations!
