Ganesh Walunj Recipient of the 2020 STLE Canton Section Scholarship Award
Ganesh Walunj, a PhD student in the Mechanical Engineering department of the Washkewicz College of Engineering, under the supervision of Dr. Tushar Borkar, was awarded the 2020 Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) Canton Section Scholarship. He was recognized for his research work in investigating tribological behavior in ceramic and graphite reinforced metal matrix composites for high temperature surface engineering applications.
The purpose of the STLE (https://www.stle.org/) Canton Section Scholarship is to encourage local undergraduate/graduate students to pursue a career involving tribology and lubrication engineering by providing the opportunity for them to participate in tribology and lubrication related research. To be eligible, the student must be enrolled in an engineering or science curriculum. Students are selected on the basis of grade point average, relevance of the research to tribology, and quality of the proposed research experience.
