CSU’s CS:GO Club team reached the NECC Div 2 Grand Finals after a perfect 7-0 season, finishing as runners-up against Robert Morris University.

CLEVELAND – The Cleveland State University Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) Club team celebrated a standout season on December 3rd, competing in the NECC Division 2 Grand Finals.

The appearance in the championship match was the culmination of a dominant run. The team finished the regular season with a perfect 7-0 record. They carried that momentum into the playoffs, defeating Washtenaw Community College in the quarterfinals and Minnesota State University in the semifinals to secure their spot in the title game.

In the finals, CSU faced off against Robert Morris University’s "Blue" team. It was a hard-fought series, but the Vikings ultimately fell 0-3. The matches were competitive, particularly the opener on Dust2, which ended in a tight 14-16 loss. The subsequent maps saw CSU fall 8-13 on Ancient and 9-13 on Mirage.

Despite the loss, the team has taken the result in stride. They are already focused on improving for the next season, with a clear goal of moving up from Division 2 to Division 1 competition.
