Chemical and Biomedical Engineering

Chemical and Biomedical Engineering at Cleveland State University

Our undergraduate chemical engineering students enjoy the benefits of small class sizes, a lot of student-faculty interaction, recently renovated labs (including a 15-ft pilot-scale distillation column), active student organizations, and an accredited Cooperative Education program.  Both undergraduate and graduate students conduct research with faculty mentors in modern research labs.  The Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering also administers two distinct master's degree programs (MS Chemical Engineering and MS Biomedical Engineering) and two specializations within the Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering Program (Chemical Engineering and Applied Biomedical Engineering).  The Applied Biomedical Engineering program is conducted jointly with the Biomedical Engineering Department of the Cleveland Clinic.

The Department enjoys close relationships with many northeast Ohio companies (Lubrizol, Invacare, PPG, Sherwin Williams, to name a few), with NASA Glenn Research Center, and with the Cleveland Clinic.  In fact, most of the ABE doctoral students, and many of the MS Biomedical Engineering students, conduct their research at the Cleveland Clinic under the mentorship of their world-renowned investigators.

If you are interested in an engineering-related profession, CSU is an excellent choice. Contact the Chemical and Biomedical Engineering Department office at 216-687-2569 for more information and to schedule an appointment with our undergraduate/graduate advisors.
