The Fenn Academy at Cleveland State University’s Washkewicz College of Engineering, in partnership with its sixty-five member high schools and sponsoring engineering organizations, holds its annual Engineer For A Day job shadowing program during National Engineers Week in February. This event enables students to meet local engineers and to experience various engineering fields. Since 1999, more than 1,200 students have participated in this activity.
Pre-registered students from Fenn Academy high schools are able to apply through Monday, February 3, 2022. The actual job shadowing activity will take place at assigned locations during Engineers Week in February 2022
Free parking in "Lot CG" adjacent to the Student Center. E. 21st Street is a one way street running South from Chester Avenue to Euclid Avenue. the entrance to the garage is on the right side. Be advised that parking elsewhere may result in fines or towing.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
High school students in grades 10 – 12 who are very interested in engineering should attend the event. 100 students will be selected. 11th & 12th graders from Fenn Academy partner schools have priority. By registering for this event you are making a commitment to participate. Please check your calendar for other commitments.
WHEN DO STUDENTS VISIT THEIR SPONSORS?
Company visits take place in February 2022. We are asking participating students and their sponsors to contact each other to make final arrangements for each visit. Students are responsible for making their own transportation arrangements. Students may not accept rides from sponsors due to safety and legal concerns. In some cases, students may have to pay for parking and lunch at the sponsoring organization. Please check with your sponsor for details by calling them after you attend the orientation session.
