Bridging Engineering, Science, and Technology (BEST) Medicine Engineering Fair

ALERT: ALL STUDENTS IN GRADES 6 THROUGH 12 WHO HAVE REGISTERED FOR OTHER NORTHEAST OHIO SCIENCE FAIRS ARE ENCOURAGED TO REGISTER FOR “BEST MEDICINE”. THIS IS A PREMIER EVENT THAT FOCUSES ON BRIDGING STEM FIELDS, ESPECIALLY HEALTH SCIENCES, BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING, AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING.

Northeast Ohio’s premier engineering fair devoted exclusively to students interested in exploring biomedical or environmental engineering, brings together the most talented and innovative students to interact with each other and with leaders in medical device research and development.

Designed to inspire students to

• present and write logical arguments based on substantive claims, sound reasoning, and relevant evidence

• evaluate and present increasingly complex information

• grow vocabularies in the areas of science, engineering, and medicine

• develop familiarity with 21st century media and technology

• practice applying mathematical ways of thinking to real world issues and challenges

• become familiar with engineering design and its process

• appreciate methods to protect the earth’s environment

• become proficient at testing a concept and improving ideas for new medical devices or conserving our planet

Eligibility, Rules, and Guidelines

Open to students in grades 6-12 at any public, private, parochial, or home school. All BEST Medicine projects should include an engineering approach to solve a medical or environmental problem.

HOW TO APPLY

1)  Complete the appropriate Student Application Forms under the "How To Apply" tab

2)  Complete the student participant registration form
