Workshop Topic: 5 Easy Ways to Include the Entrepreneurial Mindset in your STEM Program

Robin Eisen, Special Projects Manager, Burton D. Morgan Foundation

Teacher workshop

Overview

The main focus of the Burton D. Morgan Foundation’s work in youth entrepreneurship is on building the entrepreneurial mindset and related skillsets as essential elements of a 21st century education.  Entrepreneurship education is a critical component in all students’ academic careers, providing youth with valuable opportunities that build the mindset, agency, and skills to design and actualize new ideas and solutions. It prepares them to develop creative solutions to problems, work collaboratively toward shared goals, adapt to ever-changing conditions, and develop the grit and resilience to forge their own paths.

This workshop will provide K-12 teachers with up-to-date information on STEM entrepreneurship and showcase the YIPPEE Exchange platform.  Newly registered educators will get up to 750 points (i.e., $750) to spend on the site. A few STEM-based products will be highlighted during the workshop that will help teachers decide which options suit their classes.
