CLEVELAND – The Cleveland State University Esports lab opened its doors to the next generation of competitors on Wednesday, October 29th, giving a warm welcome to the esports team from East Technical High School.

While East Tech has established its presence in the high school scene over the last two years, their current roster represents a fresh wave of talent, comprised largely of freshmen and sophomores eager to gain competitive experience.

The visit was hosted by CSU’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate team, who facilitated friendly matches and mentorship. Beyond Smash, the collegiate players expanded the training session to cover other major titles, teaching the high schoolers strategies for Fortnite and the team-based hero shooter Marvel Rivals.

This collaborative session provided the East Tech students with valuable high-level insight as they prepare for their upcoming season, further strengthening the connection between Cleveland’s collegiate and high school esports communities.
