CLEVELAND – Cleveland State Esports is spotlighting one of its most versatile competitors, Isaiah Howard, better known to the community as “ShukY.”

A third-year film major from Berea, Howard is a dual-threat talent for the program. On the fighting game stage, he mains the iconic Ryu in Street Fighter, bringing disciplined technique to his matches. He translates that competitive drive to the tactical shooter genre as a member of the Valorant Academy team, where he serves as a "flex" player and shot caller—a role that demands strong communication and leadership to guide the team's strategy in real-time.

Outside of the server, Howard describes himself as a foodie with a love for animated films and martial arts, interests that often parallel the precision and artistry of the games he plays.

Reflecting on his journey, Howard gives a huge shout-out to his parents and his best friend, Nung, crediting them for their support in helping him get to where he is today.

The program is proud to have such a dedicated and multi-talented player representing the Vikings.
