CLEVELAND – The Cleveland State University Super Smash Bros. Ultimate team enjoyed a true home-field advantage on January 23rd, welcoming Baldwin Wallace University to the lab for a special in-person competition.

While many collegiate esports matches are played remotely, this Great Lakes Esports Conference (GLEC) showdown brought the two local teams together under one roof. The atmosphere was electric, with players enjoying challenging matchups and engaging in great conversation throughout the evening.

Despite the friendly vibes, the Vikings meant business. CSU secured a decisive 2-0 victory over the visiting Yellow Jackets.

The event was a perfect example of the camaraderie in collegiate esports, blending fierce competition with community building. The program extends a huge thank you to Baldwin Wallace University for making the trip and playing some great games!
