CLEVELAND – The new year is off to a golden start for the Cleveland State University Super Smash Bros. Ultimate team. On Sunday, January 11th, the program played host to the prestigious Northeast Ohio Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Awards (NEOH Awards).

The event served as an exclusive invitational, bringing together the region's best players to compete and be recognized for their accomplishments throughout the 2025 competitive season.

While the competition drew top talent from across Northeast Ohio, the biggest prize stayed right on campus. CSU’s very own Victor "Dreamless" Marcelo fought his way to the top of the bracket, taking home the gold medal in the invitational tournament.

The event provided an exciting kickoff to the year for the Smash team, celebrating past success while setting a winning tone for the season ahead. Event photography was provided by Evan French.
