CLEVELAND – Recently, the Cleveland State University esports program had the pleasure of hosting New Tech West High School in the campus lab. The students were able to use the state-of-the-art space as a way to train and prepare for their upcoming regional playoff game.

Through this experience, the visiting students were able to work directly with our Varsity and Club players. One of those mentors was Varsity player Cory Brotosky, a Chemistry education major who currently student-teaches at New Tech West!

The high school students did extensive research during their time in the lab, successfully figuring out the specific characters the opposing teams would be playing. The preparation paid off tremendously, as the team came in 2nd place in their region.

Riding the momentum of their regional success, the New Tech West team has already requested to come back and use the CSU lab to get in shape for their upcoming State playoff appearance. Good luck at States, team! We are all rooting for you.
