Player Spotlight: Eric Weatherall, "wyyu," Valorant Varsity
CLEVELAND – Cleveland State's Varsity Valorant team is maintaining a perfect season, thanks in no small part to the clutch plays of Eric “wyyu” Weatherall.
A sophomore business major born in Hamilton, Canada, Weatherall plays the high-impact "duelist" role for the team. His skill was on full display in the recent match against Old Dominion, where he played a crucial role in closing out the series. Weatherall secured a massive 4-person kill in a key round, sealing the 2-0 series victory for Cleveland State.
With this win, the Varsity Valorant team remains undefeated in both the GLEC and NACE conferences.
This high-level performance is becoming a standard for Weatherall, who was previously named a first team player at GLEC 2024. When he isn't competing, he enjoys working, hanging out with friends, and playing sports, with future ambitions of either going pro in Valorant or becoming a lawyer.
The program is proud to have Eric on the team and thanks him for the vital role he continues to play in their success.
