Speed and Strategy: CSU Esports Takes on BOSS Pro Karting
CLEVELAND – The Cleveland State University Esports teams recently stepped away from their monitors and onto the track for a high-octane team bonding event. The program visited BOSS Pro Karting, where the staff provided an exclusive experience, allowing CSU to have the entire facility to themselves for the evening.
The main event saw the teams facing off in go-karts, racing 15-20 laps to determine who could clock the fastest time. The competition at the top of the leaderboard was incredibly tight, separated by mere fractions of a second.
Christian “Xandit” Davis, the Director of Production, secured the victory with a blistering lap time of 20.06 seconds. He narrowly edged out Director of Esports PJ Farrell, who finished just behind with a time of 20.4 seconds. Nung Lian rounded out the top three, clocking in at 20.6 seconds.
But it wouldn't be an esports event without some gaming. BOSS Pro Karting provided a phenomenal competitive VR experience, where teams of four entered a bracket-style tournament playing a classic shooter game.
After a series of intense matches, one of the CSU Valorant squads "clutched up" to take the win. The winning VR team consisted of:
- Nung Lian
- Ziyeir Norman
- Isaiah Howard
- Matt Lam
The event was a massive success, offering a privilege to celebrate the upcoming season together. The program extends a huge thank you to the amazing staff at BOSS Pro Karting for their hospitality.
