Dr. Wei Zhang

I am currently an Associate Professor at the Mechanical Engineering Department, Cleveland State University (CSU). I obtained my Ph.D. from Xi'an Jiaotong University China, with a specialization in thermo-physics and fluids engineering. After working as a research staff for several years at Saint Anthony Falls Laboratory at the University of Minnesota, an interdisciplinary fluid mechanics research facility, I joined the Mechanical Engineering at CSU as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2014. My current research focus is in the fundamentals of fluid mechanics to address challenges in wind resilience of civil structures and modeling of wind energy. I had extensive working experience in top research labs at South Korea, Germany, and the U.S., which broadens my research vision and allows me to develop a global perspective and genuine appreciation of diverse views, culture, and background.
