Scholarships

All Engineering Majors

All current undergraduate students in the College of Engineering are invited to apply for these awards, unless otherwise noted.

Scholarship Applications will Open for Academic Year 2021-2022 on January 1, 2021 and Close on March 31, 2021

The specific application must be completed to be considered for each of the following scholarships. 

Washkewicz Scholars

Follow the link for more information and the application. Applications close on March 31, 2021.

General Electric Scholars (in collaboration with College of Sciences and Health Professions)

  • Currently enrolled full time undergraduate student (rising Sophomore, junior, or senior standing)
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Submit and essay on the topic " How do you plan to use your STEM education at Cleveland State University to improve the human condition, locally, nationally, and/or globally?"
  • Preference will be given to applicants who are MC2STEM High School graduates and are majoring in a STEM program at CSU
  • Students majoring in STEM programs from other Cleveland Metropolitan School Districts high schools or who are MC2STEM graduates not in a STEM area are also encouraged to apply.

Michael D. Pollock Scholarship

  • Graduated from a Fenn Academy partner high school
  • Declared major in the college of engineering
  • Freshman applicants should have an ACT score of 24, upper-class applicants should have a GPA of 3.0
  • 2 reference letters are needed from a teacher, school administrator, or professor speaking to your academic and leadership abilities
  • Current or former member of the Boy Scouts of America, or similar leadership organization

Felicia Peters Pollock Scholarship

  • Graduated from a Fenn Academy partner high school
  • Declared major in the college of engineering
  • Freshman applicants should have an ACT score of 24, upper-class applicants should have a GPA of 3.0
  • 2 reference letters are needed from a teacher, school administrator, or professor speaking to your academic and leadership abilities
  • Current or former member of the Girl Scouts of America, or similar leadership organization

OSGC (Ohio Space Grant Consortium)

Angie Langford Book Fund

  • Undergraduate or graduate student
  • Provided as reimbursement only, requires original receipt
  • Fall and spring
  • Must have minimum GPA of 3.0
  • One award per year per student
  • Awards are given on a first come, first served basis
  • Only 10 awards are given
  • Priority is given to new applicants

A single application will allow you to be considered for all of the following scholarships.

John & Joan Bardou Endowed Scholarship. Award up to $1750, annual.

The Keith Scholars Endowed Scholarship. Award up to $ 1200, annual. Must have at least a 3.0 GPA. Preference is given to women from underrepresented populations. 

William F. Bland Co-Op Scholarship. Award up to $1500, annual. Demonstrated financial need. Preference is given to a rising sophomore who intends to participate in Co-Op or similar program.

Albert Branham Endowed Scholarship. Award up to $1500, annual. Minority applicants preferred.

Anthony Colnar Scholarship. Award up to $5000, annual. Demonstrated financial need.

Dr. Bart DiLiddo Scholarship. Award up to $4000, annual. Renewable.

Gary Kader Endowed Scholarship. Award up to $1000, annual. Designed for students who are making satisfactory academic progress, may be renewable. 

Karpinski Engineering Scholarship. Award varies. Annual, must have 3.0 or higher GPA and have completed or completing a co-op/internship with Karpinski.

David D. & Lois E. McFarland Scholarship. Award up to $1400, annual. Must have a 3.0 or higher GPA, first generation college student. Demonstrated financial need. Preference given to female and underrepresented groups in engineering as well as participating in the Co-Op program.

Monte & Usha Ahuja Endowment Scholarship. Award up to $3000, annual. Must have a 3.0 or higher GPA. International students are welcome to apply.

Om Julka Scholarship. Award up to $3750, annual. Preference given to Cleveland Metropolitan School district graduates.

Charles & Patricia Mintz Endowed Scholarship. Award up to $1800, annual. Junior or Senior-level student. Preference given to CMSD graduate or sponsored charter school.

Eugene & Frances Klingshirn. Award up to $1750, annual.

Mary Louise Nemeth Endowed Scholarship. Award up to $1500, annual. Must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.

Dr. William Patterson Scholarship. Award up to $2000, annual. Must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.

Ray Saccany Scholarship. Award up to $1000, annual. Must have a 3.5 or higher GPA.  Preference given to varsity athletics.

Lela M. Schier Endowed Scholarship. Award up to $1200, annual. Must have a 3.3 or higher GPA. 

Richard R. Schier Endowed Scholarship. Award up to $3000, annual. Must have a 3.0 or higher GPA. 

Byron & Dreama Smith Endowed Scholarship. Award up to $2000, annual. Junior status. Letter of recommendation required from faculty member. Preference given to students who have been involved with student organizations and/or student government. Award renewable for Senior year if awardee remains in good academic standing.

AECOM. Award up to $1000, annual. Must reside in greater Cleveland.

Terrence V. & Mary K. Zuk Scholarship. Award up to $1500, annual. Preference given to varsity soccer or softball player.
