Student Options for Community Immersion Experiences
PLAAY on the MOVE
NRT students wok with OT, PT, SLP students and families who have children with motor and/or sensory impairments to create actiities, technologies, and environmental adaptations that facilitate community participation.
Cuyahoga and Summit County Board of Developmental Disabilites
NRT students will be embedded in a partnership organization identified by one of the county boars for a semester-long community internship. Partner organizations with whom CSU has worked in the past include United Cerebral Palsy, Upside of Downs, and Youth Challenge.
Spinal Cord Injury Volunteer Corps
NRT students work with people with spinal cord injuries to identify needs and then implement solutions in their homes. Examples include setting up home automation systems, technology interfaces, and ramps.
