Immersion Experiences

Students in the Center for Human Machine Systems have numerous opportunities for interacting with clinical, industrial and community groups.  The immersion experiences' objective is to consistently create environments where students must practice convergence thinking.

We see faculty, students, and community partners as an adaptive social network of interdependent agents. The interactive dynamics among these agents lead to greater coordination, coherence, and ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems.

Thanks to philanthropic support, the costs of immersion experiences can possibly be covered!  To request application information, please email nrt@csuohio.edu.

The program emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, bringing together students from engineering, psychology, occupational therapy, and urban studies to form integrated teams. These teams are supported by a broader learning community that includes faculty across disciplines, disability community members, industry and clinical partners, and external experts. Through mentorship, collaboration, and real-world engagement, students develop integrated knowledge and practical experience.
