BME 658 Project

Take 2

Jake Kirch, Aaron LeMieux, Sean Moore and Danielle Wingerter designed a product called Take 2 for their group's BME 658 project. Take 2 is a bag valve mask that allows first responders and friends or family members who are CPR certified to administer Narcan and rescue breaths simultaneously to overdosed patients. BME 658 is the Medical Device Design course instructed by Dr. Nolan Holland

Cleveland Health-Tech Corridor 

The Cleveland Health-Tech Corridor (HTC) is a public-nonprofit collaboration that was founded in 2010. BioEnterprise, The Cleveland Foundation, the City of Cleveland and MidTown Cleveland came together to create a center for the increasing number of health-tech and high-tech businesses in the city. The company has partnerships in the health and technology sector surrounding Cleveland. The HTC offers support for companies and entrepreneurs in order to help small businesses expand and give Cleveland a competitive edge. 

HTC Pitch Night

The HTC Pitch Night is an event where different start-up companies come to present their product with the hopes of increasing networking. First through third place were recognized with a certificate and a cash prize. Out of eight teams competing, Cleveland State University's Take 2 BME 658 team was the only school group. Take 2 was thought of and developed over the course of the 2017 spring semester during the BME 658 class by Jake Kirsh, Aaron LeMieux, Sean Moore and Danielle Wingerter. The group took third place and a $350 cash prize. They received positive feedback from other attendees of the pitch night and made connections with future contacts in the chance that they would like to further the project.
