About Tissue Engineering


Tissue engineering integrates principles from biology, engineering, and materials science to create biological substitutes capable of restoring, maintaining, or enhancing tissue and organ function. Tissue Engineering research at Cleveland State University focuses on the development of scaffolds, cells, and bioactive molecules promoting tissue regeneration or replacement.
