The Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering offers an Accelerated Master's program that enables undergraduate students to earn a Bachelor of Biomedical OR Chemical Engineering degree and at the same time earn graduate degree credits toward a Master's of Science in Biomedical Engineering.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher (3.25 preferred)
- Completed at least 65 credit hours of which at least thirty (30) need to be earned at CSU
- Undergraduate students who are accepted into the Accelerated Master's Program after Fall 2024 may earn a maximum of 9 master's credit hours that will count toward both the undergraduate and graduate degrees.
- Undergraduate students can earn up to a total of twenty-one (21) master's credit hours prior to completion of the undergraduate degree.
- Seek email permission from contact person listed below to approve the additional nine (9) master's credits.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Only grades of B or higher can be transferred to the graduate record.
Students who are interested in the Accelerated Master's Program in Biomedical Engineering may submit their application upon completion of sixty-five (65) credit hours, typically at the end of the sophomore year (with at least 30 credits at CSU). This application policy also applies to transfer students who have equivalent junior status.

To see the BME courses that provide both undergraduate and graduate course credit, log into CampusNet, go to Class Search, choose a semester, and search for BME/CHE undergraduate courses that have the pink circle with the letter C inside signifying ‘combined.'
For example:
When you click on the pink circled C in the CampusNet listing, you will see the current enrollment for the graduate portion of the course.
You can also find the courses with pink circled Cs in the Biomedical or Chemical Engineering Degree Charts.
