The Department of Civil Engineering offers an accelerated program that enables students to earn a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree as well as earn graduate degree credits toward a Master's of Science in Civil Engineering.

 

• Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
• Completed at least 60 credit hours of which at least thirty (30) need to be earned at CSU
  
   

• Undergraduate students who are accepted into the Accelerated Master's Program (AKA 4+1) prior to Fall 2024 may earn a maximum of 12 master's credit hours, that will count toward both the undergraduate and graduate degrees. 
• After Fall 2024, you may earn a maximum of 9 master's credit hours, that will count toward both the undergraduate and graduate degrees. 
• Undergraduate students can earn up to a total of 21 master's credit hours prior to their completion of undergraduate degree.
• Seek email permission from contact person listed below to approve the additional 9 to 12 master's credits.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Only grades of B or higher can be transferred to the graduate record.

 

Students who are interested in the Accelerated Master's Program (AKA 4+1) in Civil Engineering may submit their application upon completion of 60 credit hours, typically at the end of the sophomore year (with at least 30 credits at CSU). This application policy also applies to transfer students who have equivalent junior status.

To see the CVE courses that provide both undergraduate and graduate course credit, log into CampusNet, go to Class Search, choose a semester, and search for CVE undergraduate courses that have the pink circle with the letter C inside signifying ‘combined.'

For example:

When you click on the pink circled C, you will see the current enrollment for the graduate portion of the course.

You WILL need special permission to enroll in the graduate course as an Accelerated Master's Program student. Ask your academic advisor to submit this special permission to enroll in the combined CVE graduate course.
