The Fenn College of Engineering, a private institution founded in 1923, has enjoyed its reputation for excellence long before the founding of Cleveland State University. The Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering at CSU has since grown as an integral part of the degree-granting departments in the Fenn College of Engineering. The Undergraduate Program in concert with one of the most successful Cooperative Education Programs in the country, offer an attractive avenue to further your education. The 10 full-time faculty and approximately 80 graduate students work actively in modern Chemical and Biomedical Engineering Research laboratories. The Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering also administers specializations in Chemical Engineering and Applied Biomedical Engineering (ABE) as part of the Doctor of Engineering Program in the College of Engineering.

In addition to local chemical companies, the Chemical and Biomedical Engineering Department maintains continuing relationships with The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, The Ohio Aerospace Institute, and the NASA Glenn Research Center.

If you are interested in an Engineering-related profession, CSU is an excellent choice. Contact the Chemical and Biomedical Engineering Department office at 216-687-2569 for more information and to schedule an appointment with our undergraduate/graduate advisors. The Career Services Center is also a good source of information.
