ELITE Employer FAQs

  • How do we partner in the program?
    • We ask that a representative from the company fill out our Interest Survey. Once we have received the interest survey, the Program Manager will reach out with next steps.   
  • Is the program for specific engineering majors/ specialties?
    • We welcome all Ohio engineering companies, regardless of specialty! Students in the program have a vast array of interest and come to the program with robust backgrounds.
  • Is there a cost to be involved?
    • There is no cost to be a partner in the program. We do ask that companies pay students an hourly wage and consider offering other benefits to the students.
  • How is the program different from Internships and Co-Ops?
    • Students will work closely with the Program Manager, their Academic Coach, and their employer to map out their yearly schedule. While applying and interviewing, students will discuss their hours and availability with the hiring manager.
  • How will students match with our Company?
    • Please review steps to employment. The Program Manager will also go over the steps with a company representative after the interest survey.
  • When will students start their employment?
    • After students have successfully applied and interviewed for the position, the company is welcome to extend an offer at any point. The program does not run on a structured schedule and once students are in the program, they are open to immediate employment.
  • What if the student is not a good fit?
    • We encourage students to work with their employer to resolve any issues that arise. Several remediation steps should be taken before a separation and replacement can be approved.
